How do I set up an initial appointment?

After your initial call or email notifying us of your interest in services, you will receive a call back within 24-48 hours.

We will ask you a few questions that will help guide us to the therapist that’s the right fit for you. Once we have determined your needs and connected you to your therapist, the therapist will set up an initial appointment with you directly.

What is your cancellation policy?
We ask that you give us a 24-hour notice of cancellation. You can use your client portal, send a text to your therapist, or send an email to notify us of the cancellation. You will be responsible for the full fee if you do not give a 24-hour notice.
With what age ranges do you work?
We serve ages ranging from 11 to 99 years of age. If needed, we can help individuals 100+ years old. Our therapists specialize in adolescents, young adults, adults, and seniors.
Do you work with men? Women? Couples?
Yes, we work with all the above.
What does a typical therapy session look like for me?

That depends. Because we prefer to tailor your session to your individual needs, we do not specialize in formulas. You don’t fit in a box, and neither should your treatment.

Therapy can include talking, teaching new skills to help you regulate your emotions, or education. We believe in a client-centered approach. As your needs arise, we will help you walk through them and learn any new skills you need to meet your challenges.

What modalities do you use?
Each therapist specializes in different modalities depending on the population they serve. The frequently used modalities in our practice are Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples, EMDR, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for depression and anxiety.
What is your professional training and experience?

Elise has training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, Theraplay, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and EMDR. Elise is a certified EMDR therapist and a clinical Supervisor for associates.

Other clinicians on staff may have different training to offer.

What else does a client need to know to make the most out of treatment?

Trust the process. Treatment isn’t an overnight success. It takes time. Change is not easy, but it is possible. If you stick to it and don’t give up, you’ll begin to see and feel the difference. We are here for you in the long run. We understand that change is not easy, so we’re in no rush.

The most important thing to remember is to give yourself time and be gentle with yourself throughout your treatment.

Why Beauty for Ashes Transformation Center?
The name Beauty for Ashes is from the following verse in Isaiah 61:3: “To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
Does that mean I have to be a Christian to be seen?
No. We believe that everyone is special. We meet the needs of everyone we see, no matter their faith.
I don't like to cry; will I cry in every session?
Our success is not defined by whether you cry in sessions. Sometimes, you will shed a few tears (don’t worry, we have tissues), and sometimes, you will start laughing. Yes, it’s true; we sometimes laugh in therapy. Whatever your need is, you are in a safe space to feel your feelings.
Why did you start Beauty for Ashes?

I, Elise Rodriguez (CEO), have been on a long personal journey of healing. I had to overcome low self-esteem, depression, and fear of failure – just about everything you feel.

As a result of my challenges, I am passionate about helping others heal. Because there is only one of me and so many of you, I decided to train a team of healerston reach more people with the message of hope.

Do you see clients in person or online?
Both. We allow you to choose. Therapy must be comfortable for you. That means you get to choose your preference. All our therapists see online and in-person clients.
Can I bring my 'therapy pet' into the office?
We don’t generally recommend it because sometimes those furry animals are so cute that they are a distraction to the therapist. At least they are for me. We know your furry friends are family, but therapy is a time set aside just for you.
Ms. Rodriguez, what's your favorite self-care routine?
I love going outside early in the morning every day to read and listen to the birds. Then, after work, I go back outside to watch the sun go down. Most of all, though, I love to laugh!
Do you like being a therapist?

No, we don’t. We love it! Seeing your life change for the better is the most exciting process in the world for us.

Our therapists love helping you grow. Seeing you succeed is our passion, motivation, and purpose.
